Top 5 Easy Snack Hacks

Cupboards looking bare? Tired of cooking? Try out these simple recipes for some seriously satisfying home snacking!

1. Speedy nachos with baked beans


Tin of Baked Beans
200g nacho chips
75g cheddar cheese
1 fresh jalapeno, sliced
1 avocado, slices
20g coriander, chopped
1 lime


1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / 360 F
2. Scatter nacho chips on a baking tray, cover in cheese and cook in the oven for 10 minutes
3. Heat a tin of baked beans and pour over the cheesy nachos
4. Garnish with sliced jalapenos, avocado and coriander. Serve with lime wedges. 

2. Five Minute Flatbread Pizzas


2 plain flatbreads
1/2 cup of marinara sauce
6 slices of mozarella cheese
Pepperoni, veggies or any toppings of your choice​


1. Spread a couple of tablespoons of sauce on each flatbread, leaving a crust around the edge
2. Top with 3 slices of cheese each and your toppings
3. Place on the grill for 5 - 8 minutes, or until golden brown

3. Peanut Butter & Chocolate Smoothie


1 frozen banana
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tbsp plain greek yogurt
1 tbsp smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup of almond milk


1. Toss all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth, approx. 1 minute
2. Add more chocolate if not chocolatey enough, or more milk if too thick!

4. Sweet & Spicy popcorn


100g salted microwave popcorn
¼ tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp agarve syrup


1. Cook the popcorn according to the packet instructions. Tip into a large bowl
2. Sprinkle over the spices, then pour over the agarve syrup. Stir and serve warm

5. Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream


2 vanilla pods
500ml / 16 fl oz double cream
70g / 3oz sugar
3 egg yolks


1. Halve the vanilla pods lengthways and scrape out the seeds. Add the pods to the cream and bring to the boil, then add the sugar and stir until the sugar has dissolved
2. Whisk the egg yolks in a large bowl then slowly whisk in the hot cream mixture
3. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into another bowl and whisk in the vanilla seeds
4. Pour the mixture into a freezer-proof container and freeze for 2-3 hours until set
